Kian in AZ sans Daddy

I abandoned my little family on Thursday for a weekend of racing in NJ and so they took off on Friday for an extra week of Thanksgiving vacation in Arizona with family and all the grandparents. I guess Kian did pretty well during the majority of the flight over but I think Annie sleep starved him and fed him at will. Good thinking, Mommy.

So now that I'm back I will have another 4 days without seeing Kian and I miss the little squirt already. However.... I am SORT OF looking forward to a few evenings of solitude at the house trying to get my things in order. There are so many things that I just haven't had time for, and so this week I hope to crank out a bunch of errands. My bikes are a wreck, and getting more messed up with each race that I do (bent dropout on one, rolled a tubular tire on another, both CX bikes need tune-ups). And I've still got 3:D pics from my races in KY almost a month ago that I need to run through the software and get posted as well as more recent Singlespeed Worlds pics and another 500+ from this weekend. Dirty laundry, arghhh!

News from the Baby Front: Kian tipped the scales at 12 pounds-15 ounces last week after almost 6-weeks at 11-pounds. Annie had a feeling that he was about to spurt.

An Obamababy!

Even though my daddy reminds me that I was born under a Bush, I'm soooper happy that I will come into consciousness under an Obama-nation! I'm a non-partisan peanut, in fact, I could care less about politics right now and I certainly don't want to upset anyone, but I just think that life will be better as a baby under an Obama Administration. Let's heal this country, yay America!

Haunted Weekend

Enough with the pumpkin suit, you say, but just a couple more, Aunt Joanie pleads. Here are a couple that she took this weekend while we were hanging out in Snoqualmie. We dropped off the little guy for about 4-hours on Saturday night to go into Issaquah for an evening on the town... that's the longest we have been away from him so far.

Chicken Kian with his Chicken Cousin.

I'm not a chicken, I'm a chicken hawk!

For Halloween Annie and I took Kian to a full-on adult party in our old Ballard neighborhood and Kian was amongst the life of the party -- shared that role with Heff, the Playboy Bunnies and the belly dancer. He was awesome and ended up sleeping in our arms for a couple hours despite the music and the fog machine.

The final trick of the weekend was that my back blew out on me again in my bike race, although it was a treat just being out there with friends in the mud and blood and the beers.
